    We

    In 2009, Nadine and Tom Michelberger build the Michelberger Hotel & Restaurant in Berlin – a place that captures the city's spirit and continues to evolve with it. Early on, the desire grew not only to offer our guests a unique stay, but also to serve them the best possible produce. After years of working closely with artisanal farms & producers, the opportunity arose in 2018 to create a place in the Spreewald where the origins of good food could be experienced first-hand. We planted a syntropic food forest. The concept of syntropy describes how the result of collaboration is greater than the sum of its parts. At the hotel, we've experienced this on a human level for many years: when people come together, sharing time and space, we naturally connect on what unites us and create together. Around a table, under a roof, within a circle of friends or strangers. Just like in the food forest: where many species coexist in a small space, symbioses arise, microclimates develop, and new habitats form for even more life to follow. Over time, biodiversity expands, soil fertility increases, and a new relationship between humans and nature begins to grow. An interplay of life moving forward together.

    The Michelberger Hotel is a modern boutique hotel and a living community project located between Friedrichshain and Kreuzberg. For over a decade, its unconventional approach to hospitality — more a house of connection than a traditional hotel — has attracted creative minds, travelers, and Berliners alike. 135 rooms in various categories sit above open communal spaces — from the lively lobby and bar to the green courtyard and organic restaurant. Over the years, different architects, designers, and friends have shaped these spaces, giving the former factory its warm and inviting character.

    Restaurant ORA

    ORA is a restaurant and wine bar located in a historic pharmacy in the heart of Kreuzberg. Its seasonal, unpretentious, European dishes can be ordered à la carte or in a fixed menu of three or four courses. From the early evening on, you can drop by the bar for a cocktail and some bar snacks. It also has an extensive and eclectic wine list with a focus on natural wines that always has something new to discover.

    Restaurant ORA

    MXPSM

    Located in Berlin-Wedding, MXPSM produces spirits under the direction of Gerald Schroff, following documented methods and recipes rooted in the highest standards of quality and traditional knowledge. Historical distillation apparatuses are used in the process, some of which originate from the former liqueur factory of the Versuchs- und Lehranstalt für Spiritusfabrikation und Fermentationstechnologie (VLSF). MXPSM liqueurs are most often served on the farm, either in a spritz or as a digestif.

    Michelberger Bakery

    Since 2018, we are baking our own sourdough bread in the basement of the hotel. Having always baked bread out of a tiny corner of our kitchen, when the space became available to us, we seized the opportunity to realise a long held dream of opening a fully-operational bakery that provides all in-house bread - between 5 and 8 kinds - to our café, restaurant and of course the farm. We use the best German-milled flour to produce our rye-based, sourdough bread baked fresh daily.

    THEKE

    THEKE is our relaxed, friendly restaurant on the ground floor of the historic MXPSM liquor factory in Berlin. Where THEKE is now was once the distillery's farm shop and is the little Wedding sister of ORA in Kreuzberg and part of the Michelberger family. Enjoy our beautiful sun terrace and cozy indoor seating. For a quick, flavorful lunch break or an extended aperitivo afterwork dinner with friends in the Wedding sunset. No reservations. Just drop by.

    Fountain of Youth

    Sip your way to eternal youth with our very own coconut water. The Fountain of Youth is for all of us to feel inspired to keep working on becoming the best version of ourselves. After all, we are what we do, what we think, and what we drink.

    PEOPLE Festival

    In 2016, 100 artists from all over the world came together for a week of musical co-creation, culminating in a festival weekend which played to an audience of 5000 across 8 stages for 24 hours over 2 days at historic GDR radio Funkhaus in Berlin. This memorable experience was reborn and reimagined in 2018 as PEOPLE, an artist-driven, non-hierarchical experiment of music and togetherness.
